Saints LIVE

All Saints LIVE classes will be asynchronous. Class work begins June 2, 2025 with all assignments due by July 31, 2025. Teachers will email a syllabus to their students by May 15th. Students will have to complete the same course requirements and are subject to the same grading expectations in the summer as they are in the fall or spring.

Saints LIVE classes are also offered to non-All Saints’ students. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure his/her school will accept the class credit and grade. It is also the student’s responsibility to request the grade be sent to his/her school at the completion of the class. For further information or questions, please email summeryou@aseschool.org.

Payment & Policies
Tuition for each class is $995. Students may withdraw from a class, but the withdrawal must be in writing and received by the Business Office by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025. A refund of $700 will be given at that time. No refunds will be issued if a student withdraws after 3:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025. A minimum of four students is required for a class to make. A maximum of 25 students can be registered per class.

Introduction to the Bible

Grades 9 - 11

The Bible, a foundational text in Western civilization, is a diverse collection of ancient writings spanning over a millennium. It is composed of two main sections: the Old Testament and the New Testament, each containing various genres such as historical narratives, poetry, prophecy, letters, and apocalyptic literature. In this class students will undertake an academic overview of the Bible, which entails examining it as a collection of texts with historical, literary, cultural, and religious significance. They will develop reading skills and will learn to identify how historical cultural context shapes the writing and reading of these texts. They will also learn key themes in the Old and New Testaments.

*This class is only required of students who entered All Saints’ after Grade 7.

World Religions - Eastern Traditions

Grades 9-11

Throughout the history of the human experience, religion has been central to the development of civilization and has influenced literature, art, history, politics, nations, and individuals. World Religion - Eastern Traditions will analyze the major world religions that have their origin in Asia while comparing their histories, practices, rituals, and beliefs. This class will look at the diverse religious expressions that deeply change the lives of individuals in profound ways, by fostering empathy and understanding, allowing students to engage the world in a meaningful manner.

World Religions: Abrahamic Traditions

Grades 9-11

Throughout the history of the human experience, religion has been central to the development of civilization and has influenced literature, art, history, politics, nations, and individuals. World Religion – Abrahamic Traditions will analyze Judaism, Christianity, and Islam while comparing their histories, practices, rituals, and beliefs. This class will look at the diverse religious expressions that deeply change the lives of individuals in profound ways, by fostering empathy and understanding, allowing students to engage the world in a meaningful manner.

Greece and Rome in Modern Novels

Grades 9-12

If your student’s a fan of Percy Jackson, come explore the wider world of modern novels connected to the ancient Greek and Roman world! We’ll read excerpts from a variety of children’s and adult books that retell ancient myths and history to learn about important stories, events, and figures from the ancient world. We’ll evaluate why authors choose to use ancient stories to address current issues, how historically accurate their new perspectives are, and why the distant past remains so relevant to readers today. As a final project, students will create a proposal for a book based on ancient Greece or Rome.

*This class is open to all Upper School students. It provides one of the three elective credits required for students completing the Honors Classics Diploma.
